Hey ladies and gentlemen, and those who have yet to decide...
I'm driving a 2017 Volvo 670 with a factory refrigerator. It keeps dying. When it will work, it's just cool. Not cold. Will never freeze a bottle of water in the icebox section. And more often than not, just doesn't do anything. Which of course nicely ruined a bunch of food for me.
It's a company truck and getting service for a non-required piece of equipment is a pain. Even though it's only 7 months old and still under warranty, getting shut down a day for it is a big deal.
Any suggestions? If I cycle the controls off and then to full, I can get it to come on for a little bit. But it's dead again by the time I stop or by the time I get up in the morning.
I'd appreciate any possible advice.

Hi there, could check the t-stat operation.I know you say it never gets ice cold-maybe it's not running long enough to get to a cold/freezing point. You cycle it-it fires up-some point later-shuts down.Had one in a 2015 w/a faulty t-stat.Havent seen a 2017-but if you can remove the cover off the control knob, pull the 2 wires off the t-stat n connect them together,if all is good, compressor should fire up.Mind you it wont shut off/cycle-but youll know in a few hours if your freezing or not.
Another approach-is it possible the fridge is working while your parked-then a hour down the road you hit that pothole just right and a wire loosen's up and breaks contact?(not likely-never know).Just 2 simple things to check while your on your break(34).It's ashame-2017 and its under warranty-you shouldn't have to do a thing.
Good luck.Phantaztix Thanks this. -
