Ok ... was hoping for some help from a brother. I drive 18 speeds comfortably regularly but come across a Volvo 670 10 speed manual but cant find any reports or reviews. Seems like the I shift is what everyone is talking about. Is the D13 a fast reving engine like the Cummins or slow like the Cat? Regardless looking forward to hearing some comments!!!

What exactly are you asking? Are you planning on purchasing or just a driver? The D13 has a known problem with injector cups failing.

I’m guessing he wants to know what to expect as far as driving it, like shift points.

Buy ... the 670 has only 188,000 Km and is mint. Will find work for it ... just never drove the D13 with a manual so was curious what it was like. Haven’t test drove it yet.

Curious how the engine / 10 speed mating was!

Sounds like he can't shift it? I didn't know Volvo made a manual 10 speed transmission? I have a Volvo with a 10 speed Meritor transmission, never did really like it. Seems very tight compared to an Eaton Fuller in my opinion.

Not sure I understand you. My 2010 D13 with 10speed Eaton Fuller transmission has made it to 1.2m on the orginal transmission. Never driven a Meritor transmission but shouldn't be that much of a difference.

Yeah, guess we all chymed in together with answers. But anyway yeah, I have always noticed the margin for error just seems a lot tighter in my truck that has the Meritor transmission over the Eaton. Maybe it's just me, but I like my Eaton transmission better. With that being said, I also have a Meritor 12 speed auto shift transmission that seems to shift near flawlessly most of the time, especially when loaded going up and down mountains, it don't miss a lick.
