When I worked as a shipper/receiver, the Vitran drivers were always happy... that probably says something about their work environment! Although that is the only information I have to offer.

 

I work there now.

 

theyre LTL. Some of the equioment seems older, but they bought a smaller LTL company called PJAX. Only know of one guy that left con way to go there ,and when i spoke to him, he aid he liked it there.

Are you still at conway? if so, how long have you been there?

 

yes im still here, forthe time being. Probably giving up my line run to go back to school in the fall. Im coming up on a year in July

 

My friend worked for Vitran, hated it. He's at Holland these days.

 

I don't mind it, but yes there are issues. no pay raises for 3 years. (15 months for me.) so if your at the bottom of the scale like me, too bad so sad. Looking at Con-Way Freight in Sioux Falls. Not too sure about doing P&D on the flex but not much I can do about it. I'd rather run line-haul or work night dock till I get my time in. Would like to have Con-Way tell me that my employer and driving record check came back o.k. before I say "yes" to hopping on board. Based on what I have heard it just seems like the safe thing to do.

 

I was going to say, didn't Vitran get bought out by YRC?? The Yellow terminal here in Chicago pulls Vitran trailers all the time, just seen 2 of them today.
