vision requirements 20/30 or 20/40

    ive read it different on two different sources? i think i have 20/40 in one eye thats without glasses. doctor says glasses wont really improve the vision in that eye so i dont wear them. i have lazy eye(not so bad that im cross eyed tho haha). its not supposed to get any worse but would it be too risky for me get into trucking then my vision may drop more,it may take 10 years, ya never know. anyone who went through this or have vision problems id appreciate the info. been wanting to drive for a long time, i finally get to the point in my life to where im ready and then i find this out. any help thanks

    As long as you pass the test you ll be fine to drive. The eye machine at the dmv tests for lazy eye also, Ive learned to see with booth eyes over time so i can see w/ both or primarally my good eye when im seeing-driving-testing- what have you. technically speacking its not illeagl to drive a cmv with one so long as you can pass the vision requirments. I have a lazy eye. 0 accedents in 3 years... knock on wood..
    thow companies may not want to hire you for -other- reasons... I ve been honest about it to my boss s and they dont give a #### so long as I drive safely-good and get the job done. ;/ GL

    can you pass the eye chart..? this what most dot dr use.... both eyes... 20/40 you will be fine

    I got 20/20 with glasses right eye
    I got 20/50 with glasses left eye
    I have 20/20 both eyes with glasses
    Will I pass or fail

    Stop necroing all these 12 year old threads. No you will not pass. You need at least 20/40 corrected in both eyes.
