Violation on DOT inspection? No Citations

    Ill be honest, I pulled over at a rest area shoulder cuz I was sleepy. I pulled to a spot in the center of the other trucks that were lined up, I did see a sign that says no parking on shoulder before the road splits from car to trucks.

    30 min later, DOT knocked on my door and did a level 3. Well he did a level 3 for all of us that were parked on the shoulder :/. Anyway I got the report back saying Miscellanious traffic Violation, Failure to Obey Highway sign, blah blah blah. Out of service? No. Verify? No.

    NO CITATION NUMBER. So im guessing since the citation number field is blank, he didnt give me a ticket to pay or a court order date. 3 points for MISC and a 7 out of 10 severity level. Where does the points go to? To my license or my company?.

    I didnt want to ask for a ticket instead cuz I know Virginia can magically make laws out of nowhere and get a "wreckless or careless" illegal parking...

    we've all gotten IRs with a violation and no citation, if you have no citation you're golden, just don't let officer grumpy catch you on the shoulder again.

    seriously I've gotten some pretty BS write ups before on inspection before, with no citation. give one to your boss and feel free to file your copy with the egg shells and candy wrappers.

    YOU GET the failure to obey a highway sign. look up the points, you own them now, on your PSP. he handed you that inspection report, right..??? you're nailed.

    those points are all about the CSA federal system. Has NOTHING to do with you state issued drivers license. Both you and the company are proud owners of those points now. The company for 2 years, you for 3 years.

    nailed for what? if they didn't summons him to court he's not going to get charged with anything or nailed for failure to appear like he's worried about? so he'll get three points, boo-hoo-hoo unless he's a chronic screw up his dispatchers just gonna say "don't do that again" he's not going to suffer out of this is my best guess.

    Small deal. if that is the worst thing that happened to me when dot did an inspection I'd be relieved.

    On the new csa/psp system, it's 3 points x3 in the 1st year, x2 in the 2nd and x1 in year 3. Remember, were talking about the government accounting system. Whether it is money, citations, or pigs-in-a-blanket...they will complicate it until it is incomprehensible to the general public.
