I have never understood that. Can ANYONE explain to me how it's more comfortable to be shifting over your #### head?

No different than "ape hangars" on a bike. It is just supposed to "look cool." Of course with the ape hangars you get the added benefits of lose of control, pain in the shoulders, and anybody riding behind you gets the full effect of your underarm odor. . .:biggrin_25523:

Hoped into an old Mac to haul grain and it had air power steering. Last worker had put one on and it was a pain. Then became a real pain when steer got caught in rut and broke my pinky knuckle. Yes, removed it with leatherman and hammer (mostly hammer).

Actually ape hangers on a bike are quite comfortable if they are the right length. :biggrin_25522:

[I beleive someone stole the idear off a fork lift if you've ever driven 1 of them you can see the benefit to having one although they still can give you a nasty wack on the wrist or arm if your not careful

I have never had a problem with the knob, even when i hav beenin DOT they hav never said anything about the knob..I got use too using one when my dad had a long nose 359 pete..I still use one 2day cause through the years now it makes my wrist hurt if i dont, but i also hav short arms and it does make it easier for me too back, i dont use it for drivin unless its a really tight right turn..I hav beenin in every state and the only one's i was told i couldnt hav it on was WA,CA and Oregon if they wonted too be a pain..If they are installed rite they wont tear up the wheel..Although most companys now wont allow u too use them anymore...:biggrin_25526:...soo if u havent got the answer ur lookin for, then do like i did and ask DOT in the states u are drivin in and they will answer ur ?'s..They wont bite...GOOD LUCK TOO U..

I bought one for my Garden Tractor recently. It was in the tacky aisle in the auto parts place, so it wasn't even a dedicated lawn/garden/farm/industrial equipment application. It said clearly on the package, boldly on the FRONT, back and in the instructions 4-5 times, that it was for OFF-ROAD use only. so, a forklift, boat, shunt, go-kart, Farm tractor are all off-road, I suppose they belong there. labelling the package as intended for off-road use is how they sell them....just like those tobacco shops selling the big glass pipes - they just have to say they are art, or intended for tobacco (yeah right) :biggrin_2552:

I know in Canada you can not attach anything to your steering wheel in any way.
