I had been working for Vertex for a while now and to everyones suprise, they fired all of us. All of the owner operators that were leased to them, here in Pennsylvania. One o/o had gotten into an argument with a dispatcher in Texas and they decided to drop the bomb on all of us.
They also go by the name of Frac Tech.
They were doing many illegal things here as well which we have documented and recorded on video. We are headed back to our homes, looking forward to talking to a good lawyer with a possible CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT.
I will post more about the lawsuite on this thread. More than 50+ Owner Operators were fired today. I got a lot of their info. already but if anyone else was affected by this go ahead and send me a PM with your phone number, we will add you on to our list.
Meanwhile, any good trucking companies to haul frac sand for that have NO RELATIONSHIP to vertex?
Vertex practices unethical behavior and not a very good moral overall from the people that run that place. I should have left a long time ago.

Not to sound like a complete ###hole.....or maybe I do.
Some people aren't cut out for oil industry jobs. IMHO oil field is an excellent training ground for super truckers. But trucking is a poor training ground for the oil field.
Fly by nights abound in both industries.
When you mix the current regulations on trucking, and oil industry. It can only be a disaster....for the driver trying to remain legal at all times.
Not sure what your issues are. But rest assured, class action is code for "How much does your lawyer want to make?" and NOT about justice being served.
Case in point: Current class action against Honda will net the "litigants" just a tad over $1500 each. And the lawyers in the millions....each. Meanwhile....one woman has taken them to civil court. And expects to gain $12k for her case.....without a lawyer. -
I have no clue who Vertex is and what part they play in the oilfield industry. I can tell you and have witnessed it myself. You don't bark or piss people off on location, they will tell you to leave and not come back. Nothing against O/O's but they were the majority I seen get the boot.

We all dealt with the "Company Man", who generally lived on site and was a complete ###hole and proud of it. He represented the actual OIL company. And could clear the ENTIRE sight of ALL personnel .....just for $#!s and giggles.
Dunno how it is now. But I'd bet money, it's pretty much the same. -
Pretty much the same now. Your right, that guy usually is a safety man. Looking out for the interest of their company period. He can tell the whole crew to clear his well and not a darn thing you can do about it.
I distinctly remember one guy a few months ago on a Chesapeake oil well. This guy walked around with a chip on his shoulder and a clipboard in hand. We all avoided him like he had the plague. -
Ib worked for a company who subcontracted to Vertex. I will say that I can agree with much out what you say. The others are right too however it can be what you make of it. Our company was kicked off the rigs many times. Some of it was the fault of our drivers and some seemed to be what you said. I too have a dash Cam and saw and have on video many crazy things. I will say though I would never turn it over to anyone. I took the job so I did it. If you think Vertex was bad the ones who sub under them take the cake. Mostly what I saw was dumping "very safe and nontoxic" chemicals. I was well aware of what they were doing to you guys. First
cutting out your demerrage! That was a big one! Once they started to change the billing and trailer leases it was time for me to bail. I though about leasing on directly with Vertex but I was witness to how y'all were treated first hand. Hell I parked right next to those very nice gray Macks on the pad every night. I will say that out of many vertex drivers I met down here many had it coming. I met some really cool guys and one cool woman that is the job. Y'all were indeed paid well I think if I had been able to lease on right away with them I would have been much better off. The night dispatcher DEL was a great guy . The guys that worked the day were all business. Vertex treated you guys TEN TIMES better that I was. Sorry to here about that there are many companies hiring in the Cleburne areajaysmith Thanks this. -
Vertex dispstch down here in Texas was great at night but hard to deal with during the day. They did pay the company I worked for on time and paid well. I sure wish I would have signed up with them first. Are they hiring more o/o? If so I'm giving them a ring. I just talked to two of there drivers and they are still happy down here. Maybe y'all can get back to work soon they kicked our company off the rigs three times that I know of but that company is still suncontracting with them. I bet it will blow over.
jaysmith Thanks this. -
Although I don't haul sand I know several drivers that are for east texas and louisiana cos.they are sayin to many companies gettin in on fracin so the work is slowin down and the detention pay is gettin shatty. This is just what I was told,no 1st hand info-was lookin to start haulin sand for tim ables out of kilgore but have pulled back for now an stayin where I'm at to see what's up in the next 2months. At least I'm home every weekend right now I would hate to start sanding and be gone for weeks at a time for not much more $ than I'm makin now. Good luck to yall getting a new lease and your back pay.
