Hello,
I have a quick assortment of questions.
What do trucking companies usually look for when verifying work history? What questions might they ask previous employers? What information from previous employers will be beneficial (selected for the job)? And what information will be detrimental (not selected for the job)? Is verification completely over the phone (i.e., not in writing)? Thank you for your help.

They look for month and yr and you need to account for every gap between employment.Don't put down any additional info except what is asked on the application.Verification is done over the phone and some companies require the employer to fax verification to them which could take up to a week or better just to get all those faxed back.

Being a hiring manager in other situations, all they can provide without getting in legal trouble is that you were employed, a brief synopsis of your job description, the dates that you were employed, and whether you are eligible for rehire or not.
