I went through there about 30 minutes after it happened. This is what tailgating and being in a hurry does. I sure wouldn't want to live with it. The comments at the bottom of this article are telling about the public's perception of us.

It's kind of hard to comprehend? Did the guy go whacko? Medical condition?
I'll watch the Knoxville news in about 45 minutes and see what they say.
A temper over something stupid caused someone their life? I guess he fixed everything.
Yeah those comments are something else. Everyone thinks the highway belongs to them.bullhaulerswife Thanks this. -
It sure sounds like a medical condition by the sound of it he didnt even attempt to slow down when he left the roadway he came back and took some ones life. It begs the question What the heck was going on with that driver? sad someone lost their life though. Police was very quick in charging him if you noticed no tests no check up just hauled off to jail right after the accident.

The truck actually rolled on the off ramp about half way up it. My guess is he was in the hammer lane following too close and going too fast when traffic stopped and he attempted to avoid rear ending the flatbed by swerving to the right. Crap hit the fan in a matter of seconds. -
Okay, this makes more sense. He hit the truck and lost control. The front truck hit one car while he overturned on top the other.
Bad driving gone bad. Knoxville has always been a mad house with I-40/I-75/I-81 traffic. I bet they have a crackdown now.
