When in doubt they will use § 392.2 Applicable operating rules. Everything & anything not covered under the FMCSA regulations can be covered under this if it's a local law.

If you have the vehicle or driver information, PM me with when, where or driver info, and I can look the inspection up if it was entered into the system in the last couple of years.

If you find out anything, SM, would you post it here? Obviously, just the generalities...I'm very curious about this as well....

"If" true it would seem like the TN PSC must be back or at least it's leaders out of prison. Remember them?

Not saying this did not happen, but this tale is almost as old as calling the U.S. Marshals, and driving barefoot.

    Best regards

This is worse than who shot J.R.

I did find some information on the Goodyear truck tire website which also includes the regulations.

    Page 22 and 23.

So the question is was it a sealing plastic cap or just a cheapo shipment protected cap that comes with tubes. It's still not a regulation but a recommendation by the manufacturer.

Excuse the pdf format! Everything you want to know about truck tire valve caps! :biggrin_2552:

I've been inspected at that scale twice in the last three months, once by a class of new officers and nothing was said about the plastic valve covers.

They had trouble with putting White as a manufacturer in the computer. And the lack of a backup lamp. (not required unless original equipment)

A nice group, trying to learn a confusing job.

And the usual officers recognized the truck, which is why I got inspected. The lets get the newbie's confused game.

Actually, a backup lamp is required by 393.11 FMCSR. No exemption for not being original equipment noted.

Sounds like this is the typical make up as you go law.
