    Do any of you guys use an ass kicker amp?

    I bought this one a long time ago and I'm thinking about putting it in, but mounting it might be a challenge.

    I'm running a connex 4600 turbo now, but I'm not sure this amp would support it.

    Any recommendations on a good radio to put with it. Would a galaxy 959 run with this one?

    2x4 2290’s?

    If so, I’d say a 959 or any other low power radio would be just fine. If your 4600 has a variable, you should be able to get that to work.

    If it's a straight 6-pill, the connex might work, as long as you can get the DK down around 2w's...Stickman built some good box's...R.I.P. Stickman.

    It's been so long ago, I can't remember what's in it to be honest.

    I decided to open it up just to see what's in it. Here's what I found. 20180509_181051.jpg
    I'm told it's a 6-pill. Not sure what I'm really looking at here lol. I guess if it said CAT or Cummins or had gears in it somewhere I might figuerd it out a,little easier.

    Thoughts ?

    Note the 6 round transistors between the chokes. Black globs on the white ceramic circles.

    I see that. I kinda figured that's what They refer to as "6-pill".

    So, what's the difference in a straight versus a 2x4 or other configurations?

    Can anyone tell me what this one is?

    6 pill is just that...a straight- 6 pill box, meaning if you had a regular 4w cb radio, the amp would really need a driver. (1 pill driver) to get the most watts out of it, or a big radio like what you have...

    2x6 is a amp with a 2-pill driver...

    @snowman_w900

    The builder of that amp passed away, Stickman. He made some good boxes. That Connex will do very well with it pushing about 150 Watts. I would run no less than 4 gauge if it’s a short run or as big as 00 gauge to the batteries. Ground the batteries to the frame with some copper flat braid, good coax and a good antenna like a Predator 10k. That box will probably push 12-1400 Watts and get you through the clutter.

    Since the transistors are colored over it’s a little hard to tell if it’s Toshiba 2879s or not. You will be happy with it once you run it and you keep getting your named called in DX land.
