So I have been searching for a new job and USF Holland in my area is hiring for linehaul. Had a great interview and completed the drugtest and then I was called and told I had to complete a physical assessment at a physical therapists when I'm ready to return to working (currently out on a medical thing with my current employer.. long story).

Does anyone know what all is tested in this? They said it'd be testing my strength for 20-40 minutes of excersizes. Does everyone have to go through this to be hired in? I am pretty weak and not expecting it to go well lol.

They are probably just making sure your able to do the job coming off the injury and have a free bill of health. We as a company have one of the best insurance money can buy. I'm sure they do this for drivers hiring on having pre medical stuff like heart attacks etc. Its not gonna be a rigorous assement. Believe me US wide we need drivers pretty bad. Their just making sure your ok. It's weird for LInehaul they do this cause over here we got some big bubbas that work here that can barely move but then again Holland does do Dock work. I think your gonna be fine. Wouldn't stress out about it. Good luck!

USF is teamsters. When I was at CEMEX, they took a certain percentage of us and sent us to the company doctor head quarters for our physical. They have offices at one of our major hospitals. I was all in the lucky group that got to go there.

You will probably walk on tread mill for 15 or 20 minutes.

Drag a weight cart up and down the hall way with like 80 pounds on it. Walking backwards & forwards ( pulling it and pushing it ).

Lift weights ( for me its usually 60 pounds ) in a box from the floor ( squatting ) to your chest, then sit the box on a shelf in front of you, about shoulder height. ( 6 Reps )

    Squats ( 6 Reps )

    Sit ups ( 10 Reps )

Hold your legs strait out, slightly off the ground while lying down for like 15 seconds.

Typically they monitor your heart rate during all this.

They may have a mock trailer that you climb in & get out, and crawl under.

It's no big deal. As long as your BP is ok, you shouldn't have any real problems. I don't know if they vary the weights for that company or if it's one size fits all. For us, 60 pounds was the standard. I've taken a physical where I had to do 80 over my head. Yea I was like WTF also lol.

The vision test was very thorough as well.

    Good luck.

Just your standard reflex tests and light weight pushing and pulling. My question to you is what kind of drug test did you have to take?

I wouldn’t doubt if it’s just a pee test. If they did hair follicle they’d definitely have no drivers do to them having a hard time finding them as it is. Plus YRC would have to pay more money for hair follicle so I think pee test is all you have to worry about.

If I've been clean for 210 days you think I would pass a hair test?

The typical hair test is 90 days (or 1.5 inches of hair). 90 days is what would hold up in court so it’s what most places use. Pre employment tests (which is all the hair test can be) can vary, but I’d be comfortable taking it after 210 days.

Remember, their goal is to hire you, not bust you.
