As some of you may already know, I love to look online and buy used CB radios for very good prices. Sure there are no guarantees, but I've never been ripped off buying a stock radio for less than a third of the original price. Sometimes I see that people are trying to sell a cobra 19 for $100+. I'm always tempted to let them know that they will never sell that. But I guess time will teach them.

If they get someoone to pay that price they are way ahead. Saw a nos trc418 for sale on ebay for $176.00. At the same time there was a NIB TRC 418 for $15.00. So I bought the $15 one, as far as I could tell it had never been removed from the box. Last time I checked the high dollar one was still being listed a year later.

Assuming you are referring to eBay. Some sellers on there think their stuff is worth gold. I've even seen people asking $50 for a used Cobra 19 Ultra 3 on Craigslist when a new one is $35 at Wal Mart.

Also many truck stop CB shops jack the prices up. Back when a General Lee sold new for $189 brand new online, shipped with a conversion done for 11 meters, there was a local CB shop inside of a Petro asking $299 for the same radio and I don't even remember what the conversion costed.

But of course there's always those who overpay for a radio, then overpay to have all the cool gadgets added, then tries to sell for a higher than usual price because "I got $600 invested in this Cobra 29 so I'm asking $300 for it."

    That is a NOS trc-418?

it is the NOS thing that I'm wondering about, what the hell is that?

AND DON'T say New Old Stock, there is no such thing in the radio world.

What do you call it? Vintage unused?

My latest score was a uniden 66a, '92 model. "Vintage unused" still wrapped in plastic, but the box had fallen apart. Works like a new one
