Need advice from car haulers in Texas. One cop gave warning saying our 7car hauler needs TDLR as a wrecker..not USDOT. We complied and Today another stop gave a ticket for USDOT not being active. TDLR says you can't have both. So which cop is correct? Do TX car haulers only need TDLR or USDOT? What do you have?

Their likely both right, the laws being written to require two mutually exclusive actions, so the govt gets their money either way. Seriously, though, I'd speak to a lawyer with experience in cmv law to get as straight an answer as possible.

Give the second cop a copy of the ticket and the phone number for the first cop. Let THEM figure it out!
