I've never taken this route as I normally stop at Wytheville J before continuing on to my deliever but this time around I got slowed down and I am wanting know about US-460 between I-77 in West Virginia and I-81 in Virginia. I know it obviously shorter in milage and is a divided hoghway but with me driving an automatic and 40k in the box is it faster to run this route or should I continue 77 to 81?

That stretch of US 460 has some fairly steep inclines, so I don't cross it with grater than 25k of fright.

Are the inclines any worst than typical on I-77 and US-35? or are they the 8%+ like outside Harrisburg, PA. Ive got quiet a bit of power, a 13 and its company so I dont care if it blows up lol well I do but ita not coming out of my pocket.

I've wondered this myself... I've picked up in Roanoke VA headed up towards the upper Midwest and always take 81 to 77 but the GPS says to go 460 cause it's shorter...

Well, the inclines on US 460 are a bit steeper than I-77, I can't remember the grade %, but they are not as long as the ones found on the two interstates in that region. I drive a company truck w/ a 10 seed, so I dislike a lot of shifting.

US460 from Disputanta to Suffolk is one of the straightest stretches of road in Virginia, lol
