Did UPS drivers really just get a raise to 170k a year??
Only thing I’ve ever heard abt them is they micromanage you . Is this true at all terminals or just certain ones?
Thinking abt coming out of retirement for this, save up some $$$
    THANKS !

Listen, this forum frowns on anything to do with driver's that are represented by the Teamster Union. They shove it down to the political forum. Do yourself a favor and leave this one alone.

It is $170k in TOTAL compensation.

So...$120k plus $50k in benefits (insurance and pension).

Do you know some of the crap those guys have to put up with? I know a package truck driver and a line haul driver. Up here in the midwest they definitely earn every dime. Dealing with the snow. Throwing chains on the package truck multiple times a day, hundreds of stops. And the line haul guy, he had a route up I-29 from SD to ND. Unless they closed the interstate that truck was rolling. And rolling through some crazy blizzards in a under powered truck pulling doubles or triples and at night. Nope

So all the LTL/linehaul drivers with UPS, do they work for Transforce? Or is it 2 different companies?

Absolutely incorrect. We don't care who is represented by unions and who isn't. The reason many of the union threads get moved to Politics is simply that most of the time, the debate between pro-union people and those who are against unions turns into such an argument and bickering contest, we end up having to discipline so many forum members via infractions of the rules. Instead, we choose to move it to Politics so the pro's and anti's can argue until doomsday if they want to and not give anyone infractions.

If you want to keep union threads out of Politics, it's completely fine to have opposing views, just don't get so caught up in those views it turns into an argument, and keep specific government involvement out of it. That's what gets it moved quicker than anything else. The forum members want to talk about the Democrats and the Republicans and which party or specific person did what.

    TL,DR:
We don't care who is union and who isn't,
    Don't argue and bicker,
Keep politics out of the discussion.

    It's as simple as that.

Whatever your opinion and whatever you say about UPS, when you take into account the money, the benefits, the home time and the working conditions, you will never find another driving job to equal it. Now, I am talking about being a "feeder driver", I don't think I would care to do a "package car" route, but a "feeder driver" best driving job that a person could have. Someone made a comment about being "micromanaged" nothing could be farther from the truth. Maybe on the "package side" but the "feeder drivers" have as much freedom as any driver out there on the road. Personally, I wished I had spent my years of driving with UPS.
