I see UPS is hiring for sleeper teams. Anyone have any experience working sleeper team at UPS?

I personally do not, but a friend of mine does. He is happy with them, makes good money, and has good benefits. They are growing and hiring he said.

I have no personal experience with our sleepers, but can offer some generalized ideas of what to expect.

You'll need to find out if your local terminal is high-need, and switched to increased pay to attract drivers. I think our local terminals are starting out at $30 per hour and 71 cpm? I know I'm in the ballpark there.

Sleepers start off with set schedules and assigned tractors, which is nice.

Benefits are as good as anything you'll ever see out there. Great insurance, and a pension.

Team runs can be 3 days, up to 5 days. You will probably make 100k that first year, if you get a decent run. I can't see making under 90k in a sleeper, even at starting wages.

I like it here, for what it's worth. I'll happily retire from UPS.

Syracuse, NY was advertising $35 an hour for "brown" as my buddy calls the day cabs. He said the key to sleeper teams is having a good teammate. They leave "CACH" (Chicagoland) and go out to Cali and back, weekends off.

It's strenuous for a few days, then you get ample time off with good money in your pocket... When you have a good partner who works with your personality. Lol

I met my best friend from trucking while teaming at Yellow, and my worst enemy. Lol and by worst enemy I mean "guy I can easily ignore forever."

That hub in Hodgkins is usually advertising for teams. The traffic in that yard is scarier than 294.
