Please visit us at to apply http://upsfreightowneroperators.com/

Thank you for inquiring about the UPS Freight owner-operator program, there are numerous advantages of signing on with our program. At UPS Freight, we provide you a legitimate opportunity to be a successful owner-operator.
Starting pay is .90 cents per mile for all miles, empty and loaded. Pay increases to .91 cents per mile after one year, .915 cents per mile at 18 months and to .92 cents per mile at two years of service. We pay practical routing miles by PC Miler instead of the shorter computer miles most carriers pay their owner-operators. We pay for your base plate, all permits and fuel/road tax. Additionally, we reimburse you for all tolls and scales. As of this week, the fuel surcharge we pay our owner operators is 44 cents per mile, which fluctuates weekly with the price of fuel. With UPS Freight’s Comdata fuel card program, you can take advantage of fuel discounts at most truck stops. 90% of the total loads will be terminal to terminal, drop and hook and all freight hauled by our owner-operators is no-touch. You will normally be gone from home no more than 10 to 14 days. We’ll pay you within 24 hours of receiving your properly completed paperwork.
The enclosed information will provide you with more detailed information about the advantages of signing on with UPS Freight. Please read carefully and compare the enclosed information with other carriers’ options available to you.

I've never understood the line: " we pay the fuel tax ". It's paid at the pump , do they reimburse the tax paid at the pump or do they just keep any credits and pay any amount owing ?

I lease to FCC I make 1.45 pr mile. It costs .85 cpm to operate. now factor in my group insyrance 85% drop an hook, discounted parts/labor repai rates, tires, and fuel discounts, plus safety bonus, they pay tolls and ifta. It breaks down to 1.70 per mile. I bring in 23-2500 a week home. So money can bs made. I never sit, I no longer have to wait or factor bills to get paid. A LOT less stress. It may not work for some, but it works for me.

Please explain the IFTA part. I'm genuinely curious. Do they pay any amount owing or do they reimburse you for all fuel tax you paid at the pump?

I agree. To each his own but I'd rather make that extra 1.50 PM their making sitting on their butts behind a computer , going home every night to their familes without being told when they can have a/c and when they can't) and have the headache. I have Tylenol for that. LOL JMO PP

its simple, you have to file an ifta fuel tax return, you have to pay fuel tax for every mile you run in a state whether you buy fuel there or not, if you buy an overabundance of fuel a lower price fuel tax state, and run a lot of miles in a high fuel tax state , you may end up owing additional fuel tax on your quarterly return, many oo get his deducted from their settlement, other companies "pay the additional tax" at no cost to the o/o. you cn also end up with a credit instead of owing addl tax.

at mercer if we owe, they pay, if we have a credit they apply to next years tag, last year I got a credit of .48 cents for the entire year of fuel tax.
