Know there are multiple threads over the years on aftermarket seats. But was killing time this morning in a dealership & noticed they have updated the Sears Atlas 2 & Seats Inc Legacy. Think the main difference is in the padding or foam used? Since these both seem to be the main stock most dealers carry, anyone notice any improvements? Last any longer, leaks etc.
On a side note, a couple years ago I was in a Pete dealership getting parts & off to the side they had a National Seat in Leather with the Pete logo. It had a part number & priced around $700. Did not have the cash at the time to buy it & thought could come back to grab one later. Was wrong & it was a new truck pullout. To buy it on your own was $1400 or so. Do not remember specifically, but it was close to double the normal aftermarket seat. But if I could find one of those down in the 700-800 range, hands down would be what I would purchase.

I bought 2 of the Atlas II's in April. One doesn't hold air for more than 30 miles and you are hitting the bump stop, still can't find the leak. The other holds air for days, but the seat cushions make my butt sore halfway thru the day for the first 3-4 months. I won't be buying this brand again.
double yellow and LBZ Thank this. -
I just put the updated Atlas leather seat in my truck. I can't notice any difference from my other Atlas seat that was a couple years old. My new one has heat and massage. I've had 3 of them and have not had any trouble losing air.
I like them.dirthaller and LBZ Thank this. -
I bought a Legacy silver leather back in April & I have been satisfied with it.
LBZ Thanks this. -
My Pete had Bostroms, the KW came with legacy...
I miss my Bostroms.Straight Stacks and LBZ Thank this. -
I don't think the legacy is a bad product though.
Whatever the brand, it really helps to rotate them every now an then. -
Good info. Seems all the dealers push the Legacy series, but also mention the Atlas. Never knew if they had less problems(they'll never tell ya) or if they made more money with one brand. Guessing the latter.
Funny the Bostrom brand mentioned. Looked at one down at Pete in Springfield, MO & all they had on the showroom floor was the wide ride. The sales guy walks out & looks at me: "ya ain't got enough ##* to make that one work fer ya". -
I had wide rides. It was like driving a Lay-Z-Boy

I ordered my new Pete with a sears on the driver, national on the passenger mismatched. Both have Pete logo in gray. Love my sears driver seat (used to be a Bostrom wide ride fan) I'll sell my passenger seat for $700.......LOL

Arguing which seat is better is like arguing if blondes or brunettes are better. Lol
dirthaller Thanks this.
