Ok here's the deal..I live in GA and I jus found out that I have a speeding ticket from 2009 in FL that is $330...I applied for Swift got accepted.... they said my MVR is clean... so it wasnt even on there ...What I wanted to know was will they dig a little deeper & find out about it when I actually go for orientation...Because I was thinking about just paying it off when I get my 1st check because I don't have the $$$ rite now because I will be leaving 4 training in 2 weeks...I need the $$$ I do have 2 eat at training facility...So do u think I can get away with it for the time being?

My best advice is to tell your recruiter, it's better than going to orientation then being sent home. trust me they will find out. You'ld be taking a chance, not sure if Swift even pays for a ticket home (unless you drove there). I know this isn't what you wanted to hear but it's better than having Swift put in your file that you were fired for not disclosing it.

Did you just know this and have not forgotten about it or were you recently sent some type of notice? I ask because if you recently received some sort of notice, chances are some forms of background checks (not regular MVR) may show something along the lines of a bench warrant being issued recently. (States trying to recapture old, unpaid moneys to help with finances)
If this is the case, you will know, because of you ever get stopped for other reason you could be hauled off to the pokey (doubtful, but your life will become more problematic regardless)
Either way, you'll just have to take your chances at this point. Even if you paid it today, it will take a few months to amend the records so a thorough background check would not be alerted to something.born&raisedintheusa Thanks this. -

I understood the incident is not reflected on his MVR which makes sense due to it's age, but that would not reflect any warrants being outstanding from the same incident if it was not properly handled. Traffic tickets are going to fall off from MVR reports when they are supposed to, regardless of current disposition status but an MVR report is not going to list open warrants that may exist.

Lots for him to consider, personally from my experience I never take chances with my CDL.

I had the same problem back in 2005. I have PA CDL had a old ticket in VA from 2002 I forgot to pay it. Long behold I got stopped by DOT in OR. My CDL came back valid however he found that old ticket in his computer. Like the DOT officer said this is a federal license if you owe any of the 50 states money then is is not valid. He put me OOS. Gave me a ticket and told me if he catches me driving I'm going to jail.
I waiting for 4 hours and booked it across the state line to WA. It was a Sunday. Waiting til Monday and paid VA via credit card and boom I was good.born&raisedintheusa Thanks this. -
