I'm writing in regards to either United states truck driving school or AIT here in Denver CO. If anyone went to these schools, how much did you pay? I'm wondering because at the beginning of the year I possibly will be paying in cash but I need to know how much it ran. They keep this information secret for some reason and since I'm not quite ready to start schooling I don't really want to talk to anyone at the schools yet because they will do everything they can to not release that information w/o getting me to sign on. I first thought of going through a school/company such as swift but I decided against going to swift academy due to the horror stories of people getting sent home for bogus reasons.. I can't afford that so I decided to do school locally however I need to know pricing before I can even decide if I can do that. Financing may be an option however I don't know if my credit is the best for that w/o huge interest rates. Let me know! Thanks ahead of time for your help

Hi, I'm Tim from US Truck Driving School. We don't keep our price a secret because we're priced to have an edge on our competition yet still offer quality training. Our cash fee is 3995, there are financing programs, tuition reimbursement, Gov't grants and also one carrier that will pay your schooling up front for you if you attend here and you pay it back at 0% interest. That program is not based on your credit, just your abilty to get hired. Call me if you have any questions, I'd be happy to help. It doesn't matter if you're looking at this next week or in 2015, I'm here to help.

    Thanks Tim,
I'll give you a call probably closer to the time I'll be wanting to attend school, seems more logical that way. Thank you for your answer, I was a little skeptic about calling because of my explanation above.. I said secret because it doesn't state price on the website so my apologies if I offend. I actually would prefer US truck driving school because I live basically 5 blocks away.. also the company I plan to start with is probably Swift so I think you guys work with them

@Truckersmooth, you are most likely better off with US...AIT is super over priced.

@tclark, what company is offering to pay tuition these days...swift?

I just finished at USTDS, Im pretty sure I know who tim is as well their. Its a good school, great instructors (one of them is smooth as butter with everything, mightily impressive and a great guy). You will get what you put in though, if you dont study, or your not out their itching to get in the truck and work hard, then you probably wont pass, I was out their every morning before class running through my pre-trip, it does help. I would recommend this school just based upon my experience.

Paluche, I think JBS also pays tuition, their was 2 guys in my class who were getting it payed off by jbs

    Truckersmooth Thanks this.

Yeah I'm planning on going with USTDS in a couple months.. I just wish I knew more about how the tuition gets paid.. I could pay in cash however I want to make sure I can cover my family and bills during the "in between" period from my old job to this new career. I totally understand about getting out what you put in though! I've already been going over pretrip stuff, the manual, and learning about the lifestyle well before even getting out there. If you can give any more info on your experience that would be great!

I know there is at least one other option for schooling in the denver area, as I just got my CDL from them this morning (took my CDL test on saturday). So I can't give first hand experience on the two. Like someone else mentioned, AIT is pricey, and I know we've had one person in our school that was with another school in the area and said they had to share truck time. Have you visited the actual schools yet? Go see the classes during the week, check out the trucks. Not to see who has the 'newer' rigs, but just see if theres seats where that bed used to be... one reason I went to where I did was the one on one driving. Anytime I was in the truck, I was the only one sitting behind the wheel. I was fortunate that VA paid for my schooling, but if I was paying cash, I would definitely spend time at each one and check out what the students actually get to do.

I'm going to be starting at CDL College in Aurora next week. I went up there and met with Mike, they seem like a really good school. Their cash price is $3200. They also have 24 month financing with $1000 down.
