I'm in the market for two stainless or stainless barn doors - 24x24x48/9 or 24x24x60ish. Any body can help me as far as where I can get them? I like bawer's but, they are on back order for few weeks, or more. Anyone tried highway product tool boxes?

How low do you guys hang them boxes. How much clearance between the ground and the box or box mounting frame? - if you have any on the bottom.

I prefer the drop door with no cables allowing it to drop to the ground.

    That doesn't answer my question.

I'm not going to answer your question, either. But, I can tell you how high off the ground the box has to be to be safe depends on the mounting location. The farther you are from the middle of the trailer, the lower you can go.

I didn't realize this thread was older than Jesus and was responding to a previous inquiry.

I have two toolboxes in front of my tandems on my step. One is 10" the other is 8.5" to clear the winches. That 1.5" makes a huge difference. I hit the lower box about once a year on things, and have reinforced the front of it. I've also scraped along the bottom. The other toolbox has never been hit in 5 years. So that should help, but I don't know where you travel or anything. This is with minimal offroad.

When buying boxes for your trailer Merritt is the only way to go. Fab your on brackets if need be, if not you can pick some brackeys up at a decent price. A pair should run you no more than $80-$100.

I have them installed and they are better than marritt, fyi. Anyway, I'm now selling one of my aluminum 24x24x60 swing door box, looking for bigger. I have brackets, custom, aluminum, they hold the box from the bottom. Looking to sell them, one box and the custom heavy duty aluminum C channel support for $1000. Box support is superb.
