I know pretty much all companies that offer free CDL training make you sign a year or two year contract saying you need to work for them that long in order for it to be free. If you quit before that time then you got to pay them all the money back for the CDL. My question is, does U.S. Xpress make you sign a contract? Or could you just quit within a few months after getting the CDL for free and go else where?

A lot of ppl go thru England and after they get a cdl some quit then others stay six wks to six months and quit. However a cdl only cost the amt it takes to pay for the driven and written portion of the test. And that's. Less than 125, anything else is a rip off.

Mega companies get govt: grants for cdl school. So they shouldn't charge the driver anything! But they way they make money hand over fist is simple.

They get govt help on new truck purchases on low emission trucks. And govt grants for cdl schooling. Then they train the new driver and get them a cdl. After witch that driver will be coaxed into a lease purchase. So now you have a green driver paying for a company trk, fuel, ins. The company will run at low overhead cost because there is a sucker paying for everything.

    Of
Of course you can quit at any time but for free absolutely not then everyone would be going that route to get their CDL.Companies invest a lot of time and money on their students. So if you choose to quit that's your business but usx will charge you as they should.Anyone who uses a company just to get their cdl then quits shows me what kind of driver you will be.Lack of responsibility commitment and lack of professionalism is what I see.

That's good but if you did guit because you found a better paying job you'll get your contract paid off in no time. But usx or any company could require high monthly payments with high interest so u might wanna look into how much it is.
