I am starting Commercial Truck Driving school tomorrow, May 29th Tuesday. I am going over my pre-trip inspection material, and I see "Front of Tractor", and then "highway horns". Are the "highway horns" the loud air horns or the electric horn? I am looking at the front of the tractor to make sure that the highway horns are properly mounted. btw...I am stunned on how MUCH there is to know for a pre-trip inspection. A lot !!

I believe in that context the “highway horn” would be the air horn.

Usually the electric horn is often referred to as the "city horn", and so the air horn might then be construed as the "highway horn"

City horn and highway horn.
Rarely do I use the city. Every idiot texting at red lights get the highway. Works best if their windows are down.Streetroddreams, WesternPlains, austinmike and 2 others Thank this. -
CDLman63 Thanks this.

I only use the highway/air horn when kids give me the arm pump signal.
