That's a good question. My company has about 300 drivers, 75 will stick around no matter what and for the rest it's a revolvong door, they just come and go.
Atlanta trucker Thanks this. -
Most turnover rates stem from incompetent Clerical Staffing and Poor Management that ignore core issues for drivers. Tons of pretentious wannabe Management looking for those bonuses scheme from the money from a bogus bonus. Tons of corruption in Trucking which is why many driver's simply leave companies in order to find normality.

JolliRoger and silverspur Thank this. -
Once upon a time it used to be between 95% and 110% industry wide. That doesnt mean every driver left every company, but if a company had 300 drivers average, they may have had lets say 100 quit, and replaced and they all quit and again were replaced as an example. I dont know if those numbers are still accurate.
A better way to explain it is the divorce rate. 50% of all marriages end in divorce. BUT only 25% of FIRST TIME marriages do. People getting multiple divorces make up the rest.Jumpman and Atlanta trucker Thank this. -
Good ?
I bet there is but it’s proprietary. Trucking company consultanting groups and investment banks type of things.Jumpman Thanks this. -
Stonehjl, silverspur and JolliRoger Thank this.

Revolving door.
It should be contracts.
Give a driver 1 million for 10 years. Big bonuses if perfect when completed.
If you a are a trucker in the NE and driving these roads or Indiana (LOL) you are not going to enjoy it for very long.
Worse, you will start to HATE it!Last edited: Apr 21, 2023

In my opinion, trucking do it to themselves. Recruiters lie to potential drivers, companies don't follow through on their promises and the list goes on.NorthEastTrucker Thanks this. -
All the lies in the world won't fill the real life potholes and misery of the American Northeast/Midwest.
I would like to see a time lapse driver facing camera over a 5 year period. One NE/MW driver.......every week.....week after week after week after week.....for 5 years.
You want to see what enthusiasm looks like leaving the body?JolliRoger Thanks this. -
LTL home daily/nightly seems to keep drivers a long time in my area....in my experience.
