There is absolutely no excuse to ever not use your signal device when entering traffic, merging onto a roadway, making a lane change, or any maneuver that requires the use of your signal device.
You are on an empty stretch of highway and notice a car parked on the shoulder. You fade over to left lane, pass the car, fade back to the right lane.
No foul, right? WRONG.
You are overtaking a single truck ahead on an empty stretch of highway. You fade over to the left lane, pass the slower truck, fade back to the right lane.
No foul, right? WRONG.
These habits are showing up more and more in crowded roads, where truck drivers are neglecting to use a required signal device.
You are a licensed professional truck driver.
You did not get your CDL with a broken left arm. The truck you are driving is required to be equipped with a working signal device.
Be a professional at all times, on an empty highway, scare traffic, and in crowded congestion.
Use your signals.

How's about a lesson for those who make right turns in front of you even though you a green arrow?

Maybe the truck signals for you now. It signals for everything else like straying out of lane etc. //tease.
People by nature are sometimes lazy. Just run a dash cam for your own protection.D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -

Cattleman84, LoSt_AgAiN, Muddydog79 and 2 others Thank this. -
Is it OK to just have it flash one time, when already halfway into the other lane? That blinker fluid isn't cheap.
For some reason it bugs me more when they signal partway through the lane change than if they don't signal at all.bzinger, Cattleman84, LoSt_AgAiN and 5 others Thank this. -
D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

I had someone keep changing lanes once, no signal. Finally saw him at a gas station, I asked him how much he saved by not getting the turn signal for his vehicle. It took him very long minute or 20 to get it. When he did, he told me I was # 1.
