    im needing to replace my turbo in my 05 freight
    (14l series 60). I found some oem replacement turbos in Amazon and eBay for a third of the price from the dealer and wanted to see if anyone has had any experience with with any of these aftermarket turbos?

    Borg Warner 171702 turbo with the extended tip is tried and true.
    But with an 2005 engine you would be wise to get a custom tune in ecm.

    Unless it's been deleted it needs a VNT turbo. Keep in mind a lot of those cheap turbos are Chinese knock offs with a smaller shaft that loves to break.

    Those 1/3 price turbos are chinese knock offs, I have been afraid to try them. I jave heard bad things about them, but that doesn't really mean anything.
