First off let me start by saying I did a search and did not find a answer to my question. I have w900l we have recently installed a turbo boost gauge in and when the boost starts to build the needle will viberate rapidly. It will not start to viberate until it gets above 15psi and continues all the way to 30 psi. The motor is a 5ek cat.

Try a different gauge. I put one in a freightliner years ago and it did the same thing. Got a different gauge and problem solved.

Use a very small rstrictor in the line before the gauge, it helps smooth the pulsing of the charge air. Better gauges have liquid filling to damp the vibration.

If you put on a 1/8 air line to the gauge, it helps,as does putting the hose into the intake elbow, but as stated, oil filled gauge is the best.

oil filled gauges are awesome for pressure reading applications. They reduce vibration for a more accurate reading.

I don't know what they do for the volvo 670s, but my gauge never wobbles. Might be digital, if that's possible. I don't know much about modern gauges. I'm talking regular, good old 'analog' gauges, most likely like the one you're describing.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I agree 100% that liquid filled gauges are the best, but I want all my gauges to match I know that probably sounds stupid to some but it would drive me crazy to look at a mismatch gauge. I have to take a closer look at the line we have had 10 cats all with boost gauges and this is first one to have this problem. The gauge is less than a year old from KW may be a bad gauge thanks for all the replies

Mounted too close to the intake valves. There might be another hole to use closer to the air-to-air cooler.

Yea I don't understand why parts are so expensive for this old of a truck. I think we mounted the line in the wrong spot

mine does the same thing its normal unless you do like the other post say, an oil filled gauge will settle it down.
