I use the garmin .... I have had 2 rand McNally but both had problems with the charging ...... first garmin I had lasted 6 years this one is 2 years and fine the McNally only lasted a year .....make sure you get one that is for a truck and always double check it against a map to make sure you have the best route

I used to use the Garmin dezl, but the routing was so terrible. I now use Co-Pilot on my phone $99 a year, traffic updates almost as quickly as Google maps does. Way faster than my Garmin ever did, and routing hasn't been terrible.

If you get a truck GPS you will learn its quirks. When/if you buy it pay the extra money for the 1-3 year guarantee. If it dies, you show the truck stop chain where you bought it your receipt and they give you another one.
Don't rely on Google Maps. It does NOT route you on truck routes. It assumes you are a car. -
I use the Garmin GPS and the Trucker Path app on my smart phone. I also have a laminate Rand Mcnally map book. I use all three for navigation. If you are a new driver do not rely solely on a GPS for navigation! Check the GPS routing against Trucker Path for low bridges , weigh stations , and other areas of concern. Also check the GPS routing against the Rand Mcnally map book for restricted roads and bridges. A good trip plan will keep you out of alot of trouble .

I use Co-Pilot GPS for Trucks. No complaints from me.
Lepton1 Thanks this. -
This thread is reminding me I need to get rid of one of my old GPS units. Somewhere deep in a box.

Truck GPS works well, mostly sticks to interstates even if you personally know a faster route. Trust it, but at the same time watch for signs. Garmin isn't bad, randmcnally seems kind of complicated. They are both the same at times.Farmerbob1 Thanks this.
