Does anyone personally use this online software? The main site at www.truckingoffice.com seems to advertise everything (so it seems) needed to stay on top of loads and paperwork.. Their website layout and photos doesn't appeal to me, however the wording and promise of no more messy paperwork is on point.

Has anyone ever used them or currently use this software?

Personally, I prefer software that I can buy and not have to pay a monthly fee.

Wow, if it does what it says this has to be the best priced TMS on the market. I found nothing that came close to this when it was just me (got very frustrated looking for decent invoice system that was tied to loads).

For a 10 truck operation you are going to pay $5k+ for a system plus yearly fees for updates. If someone tries it let me know how it works.

I agree with G/MAN. I only have one truck and $240 a year at $20 a month is expensive to say the least. $240 should pay for the software out right and never have to pay another dime. It does look like it will do what it say's though I started the free trial just to check it out...will let you know how it works for me.

I was too nervous to start the trial, I thought I'd ask on this forum before I hopped on board. It seems expensive to pay that much a month. I agree we should be able to pay for software flat out and never again.
The only instance I do recall paying for a software flat out and using it a year later was business plan pro.
Bought it flat out and used it again a year later, on a new computer. Just had to input my original serial number.

There are some good trucking software packages for a lot less than $5,000. Some of those that I checked out are grossly over priced.

Many are over priced. I have not found a single one that can stand-up to the need of a 10+ truck operation that will not cost you over $5k to implement and several thousand a year to maintain. And that is likely on the low side if you don't have an IT person on site.

In looking at the one talked about here my concern is that it is doing a lot for cheap. I have seen this before and when something goes wrong a carrier is sitting with data stuck. While memory, processing power, storage and bandwidth are all getting cheaper and cheaper. The demands for all of these on a TMW system is significantly higher than the average business.

There is a difference between what you need as an indpendent vs. having multiple trucks. I don't think a TMS is really needed for a single truck operation. Only thing I would have like was a better invoicing system that was geared more towards trucking.

Bill, what system do you use? And if you had to make the purchase decision over again, would you buy the same software? Do you use (or did you consider) one of the Sylectus packages?

Truckers Helper has a program that will support up to 100 trucks for about $500. It includes brokerage, payroll and a number of other things in the package. At least that was the cost the last time I looked at it. Trucknpro can support an unlimited number of trucks. They don't have a payroll feature, but if you run owner operators it could work for you. I have run multiple trucks with Trucknpro and it has worked fine for me. It will do invoicing, IFTA, etc., They just came out with a larger program but I don't recall the price. Like Truckers Helper, Trucknpro has several versions from which to choose. I was using a spreadsheet for payroll, but there is a way to do payroll in the Trucknpro program if you use independent contractors. But, it is not a true payroll program. It depends on what you need. I looked at a number of programs, some cost in the thousands of dollars. I was not that impressed with most of them. I thought most were grossly over priced. You can easily run 10 trucks or more with the Trucknpro program.
