Hey, I am looking around for a new job, and I'm considering trucking to be an option. However, I was wondering if it's possible to be a trucking student under a company contract and still have enough time to go to college full-time? Do trucking companies offer part-time positions to students?
Thanks in advance!

You'd be wasteing your time;
No company will train you to drive OTR during your "summer break". Companies require a year of driving to pay of the training Debt.
Going to truck driving school on your own again would be a waste of your time, because your only option is most likely going to be OTR which you cant do during your school year, and companies will not hire you once you show a pattern of getting a job in June and quiting in August...
There can be part time local driving jobs but they would require OTR experiance, Trucking isnt a Job its a career. And for most of us, and even for local drivers Driving is our life.....Even local drivers work 14-16 hours a day with 8 hours off then repete 5 days a week....
Your better off going to a grocery store to get a job.....

You could always look into obtaining your degree through an on-line school if you wish to drive and continue your education.

Online Colleges are a joke. College Degrees are Useless enough, never mind an Online one.
My uncle wasted his GI Bill on a online College i forget which one but its was suposed to be like the best one or whatever. He's got a Bachalors Degree and works for $13/hour
He's 10000Times better off finishing his degree then going to driving school. But finish that degree only 2% of people that get into trucking are still in it a year later.....Once you get in and find out its nothng like TV and the movies and that its real work, with bad benifits, low pay, and little to no respect your going to leave and your going to want that degree so you can go get your cubicle assignment.
Very few of us, make a Profitable Career out of trucking. Its not a easy job.

have you thought about working 3rd shift doing ltl or something like that. A lot of local companies will hire students out of school for local runs and with the holidays coming up this would be a good time to get hired on for seasonal work for fed-ex or even running snow plows might not pay all that good or be your dream job but it would help

I don't think so.
Going to College look into doing something in the Healthcare sector that will be the next boom will always have a job in that sector and make descent wages, no matter what way the economy turns.
Good Luck -
I am a FULL time college student at UIC and looking to get my CDL.
My cousin owns his own truck, and will sublet it out to me at a 50/50 split on the weekends.
I will definately find out if this is feasible in a few months =)
