Well, I have Sinus Surgery Yesterday, Everything went very well. I had heard all the stories how it was going to hurt so bad, and they are going to pack your nose with tampons. Also, they don't put you to sleep to do the Surgery. You must be awake. Well, thats all untrue. I had all my sinus cavities cleaned out. Not only that I also had a deveated septum straighten. The pain is like that of a modest Sinus Headach Thats all. Plus they give you some great Pain Killers. But I have only taken one of them. They don't pack your nose with tampons (at least my Doctor didn't). And they do put you out for Surgery. Sleep right Through it.

Let me tell you Drivers out there that if you are dealing with Sinus problem see a Doctor. I have had Sinus infections after sinus infections, and finally I severe sinus infection the has affected my eye sight in my left eye. Well I should clearify that. I had several things that happened at once that cause the eyesight problem. A severe sinus infection, along with high blood Pressure, and smoking. (Ischemic Optic Neuropathy) Look it up. Google it. It's no fun guys and girls. It can costs you your job. It's mostly from High Blood Pressure, Infections. And by the way, there is no cure that they know of. Ether your sight comes back or it doesn't. In my case after my surgery I have noticed some change for the better. But not as much as I need.

Anyway just wanted to inform you fellow Drivers out there of this!

Happy that you are doing better!

Sinus can also affect the ear drum as well and leave you with water in the ear that can cause hearing loss and necessary surgery.

Thanks for the info K9. How much does that type of surgery cost? I've been getting sinus infections regularly, for the past 1.5 years, and all the doctor treats me with is zyrtec. I still get the ear wax build up, and heavy mucus in my nose all the time. I've never had a problem with my sinus's before. I'm ready to take the next step and have surgery done if necessary.

I'm not sure what it's all going to cost as of yet because I have insurance. But I had no other options. It had to be done. But I can tell you I feel so much better already.

I just had a CT scan on tuesday of my sinuses, go back to the doc next week sometime. After suffering increasingly severe infections. It's so bad there's days I literally cannot get out of bed, and the infections are so frequent I'm constantly having problems. Doc has recommended surgery but wants to see the CT results first. I am reluctant because I too have heard horror stories and also that it may or may not work. Gotta do something, I'm tired of constantly taking meds for the #### infections to no avail really anymore. Thank you for the info I will give the surgery more consideration.

Like you guys, I've suffered Sinus and Allergy problems for years. I heard about something last year, and it's absolutely been amazing at clearing my head out of the infections.

It's called a "neti pot". They sell them at Wal-Mart, CVS, ect. It's just a little pot that you use to flush Sea
Salt thru your nasal passage. Believe me, it really works. Check it out, and good luck.

Just type it in your search and read the Health reviews. Being a new member, I can't provide a link for you.

IMO one of the most important things with sinus surgery is to make sure you have very skilled surgeon doing the work. When I had mine worked on the surgeon came VERY highly recommended and has over 20 years experience.
