Although scary the driver did the right thing after making some huge mistakes or a equipment issue

Don't cry over spilled milk, especially if you can walk away from it.

I'm sorry, this is very disturbing, living here, I've never actually seen a truck use the runaway ramp and then to roll one over using one seems odd. Playing the old "lost my brakes" card again, and the CSP announced a new program to help truckers navigate the mountain corridor without losing their brakes,,WHAT?? You have GOT to be kidding me. Whoever thought the mountains might be tough on brakes. It's a freakin' joke. This world has truly gone mad and in a tree huggin' state like Colorado, no less. These things never happen in Iowa.
lovesthedrive Thanks this. -

I think Colorado is doing the smart thing, they’re obviously getting drivers who don’t have a clue (or any training) about mountain driving.

so let me get this straight..
this Yahoo goes flying off the hill way too fast tries to hit the sandbox and rolls it in the process...
in the words of Maxwell Smart...
missed it by that much...lol
nothing new here business-as-usual folks keep moving on..
some of these yahoos been doing that on Monteagle now too which is pretty funny.. that good old left-handed escape ramp on the curve they miss it just before they're about just feet away and they're toppled over why because they're not trained properly and they fly off the hill thinking they're invincible well there's an old saying kids back we started 25 to 30 years ago that we were taught prior to that because a lot of trucks didn't have engine brakes..
you can go down a mountain as slow as you want as many times as you want you're only going to do it one time too fast.....
do you have to learn the hard way so be it..
I'll continue to take 6% grades of 20 to 25 mile an hour and not care sitting in the right lane where I need to be with my four ways on while you supertruckers go flying on down but this is what happens sometimes folks you might be lucky well God bless you. then again... luck may not be on your side
luck may we run out when you least expect it.
just remember numbnuts engine brakes and Jake brakes are electric check out the feed posted somebody's having trouble with their ears on a Volvo just like I had trouble with one of my old long hooded corn binders back around the turn of the century.
let that be a little food for thought for you but I'm sure it'll probably go in one ear and out the other -
You know, it can't hurt anything to educate some of these clowns. Some of these idiots can't tie their shoes, let alone driving down a mountain safely.
