So it looks like I will be going back to OTR and this time I want to do things in a more efficient manner than before. To start with, I want to use direct deposit instead of being lazy and using that stupid com data card again. Im looking for a bank that I can find just about anywhere and figured you folks would know best. Who do you use and who do you suggest?

Im not interested in a credit union. I use banks for money transfer purposes only. My money gets deposited and then promptly taken out. I need a bank that can be found pretty much everywhere. You gotta be crazy to keep any sum of money in any sort of bank anymore. But I have never done such a thing anyway.

I use Chase . Bank of America is larger but I see a lot of complaints about them on consumer forums .
Woodforest has 554 branches , mostly in WalMart stores . They are open every day except Christmas . I've read quite a few complaints about them also though .

I use Bank of America, i have had no problems with them. Its always easy to find a B of A just about anywhere. They have some good programes you can use also. I do a "Keep the change" programe with them. What this is, is everytime you use your atm card for a purchase they round the money to the closes 50 cent marK and put that money into your saveings account. At the end of the year the back matches the money on your interest, i think. All i know is last year i was matched 630$ because i always use my atm card on the road for the most part, never carry cash on me that much. That 630$ match is a nice chunk of change at the end of the year to get for just putting your change in your savings, free 630$. My bank fees are never more then about 12-15$ a month.

Thanks for the input. Chase is one I was considering. Woodforest doesn't sound too bad considering they are located in Wal-Mart stores and open all the time. That would kill two birds in one stop.

What's wrong with Credit Unions? They issue debit card that you can use in ATM's & point of sale transactions!

Did you know that all your ATM fees are tax deductable? I have no issues using my credit unions debit card! And you can find a ATM anywhere!

Credit unions offer all the same things as a traditional bank except for the high interest rates on loans.

The problem is finding an actual bank to go into to do business when I am out on the road. I have an account with Pacific Marine and Navy Federal, but when was the last time you have passed by one of those? Though I am only 26 years old, I am very old school in the way I do things. I always prefer face to face business whenever I have an issue. It's just my preference.

    I understand.

I use my credit unions online bill pay system. When I need to transfer money, I call em up & make my request over the phone.

I also carry my checkbook, envelopes, & stamps for those times that I just have to write a check. But that's only once a month when my truck payment is due
