There is nothing for truckers but we should have our own credit union, a trucker line at any dmv, at the airport, at the stores etc just saying duh...... because it takes a lot of commitment to be a otr trucker.

when i did my school, they had a local credit union. i think they also handled the payments for the school. been a long time but i remember they had something to do with something. i do know they were to be used as our checking account for payroll deposit.

don't know who or what is occupying that office space now.

I haven't heard of any trucker credit unions but it would sure be great if there was one. We could use ATM's at truckstops that aren't giant ripoffs.

If you're a military veteran or family member/relative of a military veteran, then look at USAA credit union. Many truckers are members.

I learned through experience, it's much better for each individual trucker to organize themselves and their lives. Organizing through a union just pitts truckers against each other by instilling the mindset that "everyone is out to get them" and they're just not man/woman enough to take care of themselves without a babysitter.

A good example is all those obese Longshoreman union people waddling around wailing that they can't live on $147,000.00 a year. They've banded together and it's been drilled into their hollow heads that the only way out of the poverty they live in is to destroy their jobs and the ecomony of the West Coast. Many people don't realize it costs $1500.00 for each container that's lifted on or off a ship on the West Coast. One major shipping line is pulling out of the USA and moving operations to Mexico due to the American unions high costs and inefficiency.

    Agreed!

Too many people out there wanting to blame others instead of themselves.

don't forget the $80G in pensions they get, also.

on another note, it sure was nice picking up my load from the port area last week. NO traffic. and no Aholes becuase i was in their way or they were in mine.

i can't imagine spending the entire day waiting in line to get into the ports just to haul one container out.
