As the title says, I'm broken down on my way home. I've spent the last 3 days fighting with my company over getting me home for an important doctor appointment on the 26th in NJ. I FINALLY got a load, after threatening to quit, to get me out of California and I get to UT and the truck runs into problems.
Symptoms:
*The MIL came on, which didn't seem like a major concern, I'd have it looked at when I got home.
*The Check Engine light came on, uh oh. From what I remember, this means I need to perform a parked regen. The truck refused to do a manual regen.
*The Stop Engine light (red light) has come on and the truck absolutely refuses to regen.
I've tried everything I know to do:
I've shifted into gear and back into neutral, deactivated and engaged the parking break, depressed the clutch twice and the brake pedal twice, and held the Regen switch for the required 5 seconds. I've done this in various combinations all to no avail. I'm desperate.

Any tips, ideas, or help of any kind would be appreciated.

I feel your pain, did you try turning the key off for a couple of minutes and then restarting the truck. If the stop engine light is stuck on sounds like a tow truck might be in order. And rebook your apt now.

It looks like a tow might be our only option, and there's nothing around here so who knows where we'll end up.
I tried a few days back to reschedule, but I won't be able to get in for another 3 weeks. It really just pisses me off that I give 2 weeks notice (as the company requires) and the best they can do is a last minute race across the country under threat of quitting that leaves no room for delays, like this one. I wonder what would happen if I started listing my ETA to consignor as 'whenever it gets there'?Badmon Thanks this. -
Gonna have to take it to a shop and have it hooked to the computer usually when this happens the Dpf is plugged with soot or one of the sensors thinks it is.a trick that sometimes works OS to pull the exhaust off where it goes into the Dpf unit just make sure to unplug the doser injector right at the back of the turbo.

u check fluids that doesnt sound like a regen required stop engine light id check antifreeze level and oil ps u cant do a regen unless it asks for one .

If the Dpf becomes plugged or the pressure sensor fails and tells the ecm and the ecm can derate of #### it down depending on what its told you can try and unplug the main connection it will be right above the Dpf and try that it might get you home

*The Malfunction Indicator Light or MIL simply states that you have a malfuction in the engine
*The Check Engine Light does not mean that you need to automatically do a parked regen. If you can't get the exhaust temps hot enough, the truck will not regen under any circumstances.
*The Stop Engine Light is on because I'm betting that a sensor on the exhaust side is not allowing the temp to go above the required level to activate the manual regen.
- It doesn't sound like a DPF problem necessarily, but more of a sensor issue. Is the truck being derated when the lights are on? Good luck getting home my man... -
