Its time to get serious about keeping the outside of my truck clean. So I wanna see what y'all like to use that will cut through the dirt, grease and grime our trucks collect out on the road.
I have a good pressure washer, but even that with regular car wash soap doesnt get everything off the truck without some serious elbow grease.
So what's your go to for keepin the truck clean, keeping that aluminum and chrome bright and getting grime off the frame?
Truck wash soap, polish, wax...what's your favorite.

Following this as well. I guessing the main thing is lots of elbow grease to get it clean to start with then weekly or bi-monthly cleanings at the longest. Also I dont think its the pressure that helps get the tuff stuff off I think its the heat So if you could lower the pressure and raise the temp Im betting that will help.

Hot water makes a huge difference. Unfortunately I can't hook up to my water heater to get the hot water I need. Future plan when we move to a more permanent home/property is to put a small water heater in that is for providing warm water for cleaning duties.
blacklabel Thanks this. -
We use Ex-Patriot. I believe we get it from Hotsy.

I use mother’s polish for all my shiny stuff.
Takes a while but if you dust it off everyday or other day. It’ll always look clean. And for all the body panels I use a spray wax from chemical guys. When people walk by they can smell it like the truck is wearing a cologne and it’s shiny lolAttached Files:

I usually pressure wash once a year in the summer because I jack up the trucks and trailers and get under and up close into everything. Getting wet in the cold no bueno. When I was driving full time I tried to at least garden hose rinse everything off once a week and wash out the brake shoe dust and dirt out of the drums between full washes. If the weather was bad in the winter and the roads down here were sprayed or sanded for ice I rinsed it off everyday at the end.
In the mean time I use Super strength Dawn on all chassis, engine, and tires. Or anything oily and greasy. If a real greasy chassis mix Dawn and concentrated Simple Green. Hot water if possible. I have an outdoor hot water tap plumbed into a 90 gallon water heater in the shop bathroom so i can get 5 gallon bucket at a time.
Cab and bright work wash with cold water and use either Turtle Wax liquid car wash or Meguiers carnuba wax liquid car wash.
Polish chrome with Turtle Wax chrome polish.
Polish aluminum and stainless and other jewelery with Gords Polish from Big G’s down in Gregory Tx.
Sheen up the tires with Black Magic Tire Wet.
I try to do all the major wet cleaning on all the parts for my projects during the warm months and than do the final details, polishing, and paint prep in the warmer closed up shop during the few cold months we have down here.blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
