in ex-USSR according the law first tire inflating must be in steel cell


These cells saved so many lives.

It is not all, as I can see it is 10 ton 4x2 truck, so pressure in drives is about 10-11 BAR, more then in 6x4 trucktor. So explosion was fatal..

 

After Discount Tire had an employee fatally injured while airing a 19.5" tire they stopped servicing any tires that size or larger . When they sold off their remaining inventory of those tires they told customers they'd have to have them mounted elsewhere .

 

now the real scary part, and really think about it, your walking back too your truck, the driver just got off the road, as you walk by , you smell the rubber, plus the sun heating up the rubber, now if this a old tire , this can happen while on truck as you walk by, kinda scary thought for sure .

 

That does it. I'm selling my air compressor, my tire tools..... my shop!

 

Steel split rims are especially dangerouse. When tire blws on road the ring, rim may kill someone on road, especially on oncoming lanes. I used to drive old Volvo F-series cabover with 11R20 tires on split rims, and I was happy switching to tubeless 22.5 tires

 

That's bad, why did it burst out that way? does it happen when I pressure up to spec at gas stations too?

 

Why.............?
whatever you put under pressure,you load it with energy.
With tyres that energy can escape in a drastic moment when the tyre fails.
This sudden event can best be looked at as an explotion.

Can this happen when you put air in to a tyre?
YES.In fact it is one off the moments which are most likely to have it happen.(other danger time is when a tyre is running hot)
