Years ago, I stopped at a motel in Fresno at the Jensen Ave exit. Used to have a big paved truck lot. I had just got parked when 2 busloads of Japanese tourists came in. Their guide tried to herd them toward the office but they were having none of that. They all came walking over to look at and take pictures of all of the trucks.

The Japanese are really fascinated when the police pull someone over with the blue lights
I seen a gang of them photographing a traffic stop at Guam
I saw the truck mania while waiting for the ferry boat on Vancouver island

I wonder if that is the point.
Perhaps things are different in their country and they don't have truck stops that smell like urine and garbage, or fat ugly miserable truck drivers.

Maybe they want to show the folks back home just how bad we American truckers are; that we piss all over the place, throw our garbage on the ground instead of walking 50 feet to a trash can, etc...

I could mention, that is why many Walmart stores do not allow truck parking anymore.

Big trucks are fascinating to native born Americans. Just imagine if you were from a country where big 18 wheelers are only seen in movies. All of a sudden here you are in the middle of an American desert surrounded by big American trucks, just like in the movies. Of course you're gonna take pictures.
When that happens you should play along and step out of the truck wearing your cowboy hat and blue jeans bib and say "howdy ma'am". Then you can charge them $10 for posing next to you.

Probably taking proof back to the grandkids that indeed you can move to America and make tons of money driving a truck. You just sleep right here in this awesome truck and it’s so much fun, like a mall to park at on every off ramp where they sell hot dogs, snacks, and 100 oz soft drinks galore. They even let you shower there!

I just recalled where I ran into a big group of European tourists, Russell's Truck Stop outside Springer, NM. Two big bus loads of Germans and French. The truck closest to them was a W9 pulling a loaded bull rack. I was at the pump next to him with a 40' 3 axle chassis and an empty can. They were taking pics of all the trucks, a few via their interpreter were asking questions of drivers.

    tramm01 Thanks this.

when your countries are the size of our states, they don't need large trucks like ours.

the roads are so narrow in the cities you'd never get around.
