Hello. My fiance just got a regional route for Western Express to be home on the weekends for our 1 week old son. I would like to know from the experienced drivers if there are any places that any one is aware of in DC (not VA or MD) that he could park his truck for 48-72 hours? Even if they aren't "traditional" or well-known. Just someplace secure that might have a weekly or monthly rate. Thanks all in advance!!

Your going to have to find a truck parking lot or storage facility that allows truck parking. Most truck stops don't allow you to just park and leave your truck unattended. Nor do companies want you to do that.

Seems like a lot of people are parking on the side of the ramp at the scale in college park ( 495 and 95) . Appears to be accepted by police . May not be by the carrier ? Good luck.

And technically you are not allowed in DC with a 53 foot trailer, without a permit, which takes about 2 weeks to get.

DC politicians don't want any trucks in DC. They don't want to be reminded about the working man.

RV or mini-storage facility. A large number of them have room for trucks and it is quite common here in NC for drivers to rent a space to park their rigs on weekends and holidays. The storage fee can be deducted as a business expense from your taxes. Under no circumstances would I ever park a rig and leave it unattended for a few days in DC even in a truckstop. I also doubt that Western Express would be impressed to find out their truck and trailer is being left in a parking lot or on the side of the road for the weekend.
