Apparently the towns people of Louisville hate truckers. We got stuck there the other night, out of HOS driving time and couldnt find a truck stop with parking ANYWHERE! Store parking lots? Forget it! Threatening signs posted everywhere. So we sent a message to dispatch who advised to get to the nearest truck stop ASAP. The Pilot in Shepardsville was the closest to us, but the worst possible choice. Cop cars everywhere and absolutely NO PLACE TO PARK! All the side roads and parking lots were plainly marked "no parking at any time". We ended up having to drive several more miles, parked in a Kroger parking lot that had closed at midnight. Next morning the store manager pounded on the door with threats. Come on y'all! Seriously? My advise? Don't get caught in Louisville area after dark!

Circle around the Sam's Club in Clarksville off I65 and park in front of the Wal-Mart. Many restaurants to choose from.
The McD's off I65 in Selllersburg has about 12 parking spots.
The Gas N' Stuff at the Georgetown, IN exit off I64 always has parking.

There is normally some place to squeeze in at the Loves in Memphis, In -
Thanks for the feedback. If we could have, we would have "run illegal" until LK was way behind us. The new PETRO in Gary IN is awesome! All new, spotlessly clean! Great buffet!

I understand loads have delivery times that have to be met but was yours so tight that you had to run all the way up to the last minute? Just curious. I typically run dedicated but sometimes have to do system runs. When I do those, it is always uncharted territory so I always start looking for a place to stop about two hours ahead of time so I don't get in this situation. A little trip planning does not hurt either.

Sometimes it would be the result of trip planning.
You might be getting close to the delivery point, so you want to get the most out of the day before you deliver. That way, there is less lost time and not as early of a 14 hour window.
You might also have spent the last part of your day at a dock and they do not allow parking.
