I would recommend that you run away from them. Just take a look inside. Probably hasn’t been cleaned since the regional manager was last at the location. Too high a risk of a food borne illness.

If you have the space, a 2000 or 2500 watt inverter and a trip to WallyWorkd, will be a good option. Save money and time.

You can ask the clerk if it's free or not. I did a few times until I got some signal from them they thought it was a stupid question at several places. In most places the truck stop microwave is free to use. In some places in CA I overheard the clerk/owner? telling a customer he needed to pay to use the microwave. At one truck stop, I think it was the Sumner, WA Shell truck stop I think they had a sign indicating the cost of using the truck stop. Many are neglected, some are clean. I would suggest you both put any food into a container with a cover before using it or at least use a PAPER bag with your food inside it and the end closed to no add to the chemistry experiment in the oven and keep the cooties off of your food. You can use the cheapest PAPER plates that come in a stack of 100 or more, the really flimsy paper ones, not the study one with designs on them as a bottom "plate" and a top cover, or for something like a burrito, put the burrito on the paper plate, squeeze or roll the paper plate with the food inside and slide that into a paper bag you brought from the truck.

Remember, you don't know if that particular microwave is under-powered, over-powered, or nuclear-powered so be careful. I would advise you buy something in the truck stop as appreciation they have it for you to use.

If your company won't put an inverter in your truck, you could get you one of these $350 small gas invertor generators and a $80 Walmart microwave.
The generators are about 34# and 18"x18"x8". Set on your catwalk and run an extension cord into the sleeper to run your microwave. Then when done, put the generator in the side box, after it cools off, of course.

The smallest low power microwave I've seen for sale after 1999 is 700 watts of cooking power. Meaning it requires .ore than 700 watts of electricity. No 150 watt plug-in power inverter will power a crockpot, microwave. The 150-300 watt inverters are good to recharge a laptop, battery-powered drill, electric razor. The inverter also should me pure sinewave or it will shorten the life of the transformer in the power brick that sits between the inverter & laptop.
