Hello, I have a 2014 Volvo D13 and it drives with no issues whatsoever. But, the other day the check engine light came on when I was driving but didn't think too much of it, however a couple of hours later the truck gave me a message saying "parked regen needed now, engine in derate". I didn't feel the engine in derate but I pulled over and did a regen, I checked the gauge for the filter and it read it was ok but I did it anyway. After about 60 minutes or so the regen finished, however the message didn't go away. But I thought I could risk it and kept on driving, drove about 500 miles to consignee, no problems, then drove around 120 miles home and took it to a shop, all of that with that message and regen light on, but truck ran with no issues. So the guys at the shop run a diagnosis on it, check engine light goes away, but regen light stays on, they do a forced regen, same thing, they took the filter housing apart, filters are clean, dozer injectors are clean and functioning as they should. But the regen light won't turn off and message doesn't go away either, so they flat out gave up and told me there's nothing else they can do and advised me to take it to a Volvo dealer. Anybody else that has seen this problem?

If its running fine I would just keep driving it for now. One day if near a Volvo dealer swing in and see if they can just reset the light and message.

Most regen strategies have the ECM monitor the temps and it won't officially call a regen complete until it reaches a certain temp for a certain time. Something isn't being met to meet this criteria. Usually after a prolonged time of this, another code will get logged reporting the regen failures. Ultimately, you need to have to someone connect to it and monitor what is happening.
