Seems like new truck pricing is finally getting hit . These units were selling from 180 to 200k year ago now somewhat down to pre-covid levels.another year of downturn we might be at 2016 prices .

Is it a good time to get in if you can make a good down payment to keep the monthly payments fairly low? Tired of the company gig and that effing lane departure warning is about to send me over the edge.

Nope . Invest that good down payment get 7 to 10% apy and buy when trucking is about to come alive. You will know that as your work will get busy or your runs will start getting longer.

They were talking about sales numbers on road dog on siriusxm. 300000 units last yr now 250000. Moderator was asking why. Nobody said low freight. That channel is so clueless.

    What @kay_ray said.

At least in my sector, I’m seeing a few sparkles in the embers, but not enough to break out the marshmallows until someone throws some logs on the fire.

The anchor has been in the sand for a while now.

It still has a while to go, I am thinking by the second quarter 25 we should see an uptick in freight that is solid and not residual from the election. I think that the fed will also drop the rate a bit come fall.

Still in recession. Won’t improve anytime soon as no one has any $$ to spend on anything. Summer of 25 will maybe start to show improvement

Lonemountain has also been dropping their prices. Down payments and monthly payments.

Trucking companies are shutting down also.

    Funny you both say that.

Various people, from drivers to non-industry, have asked me over the last 2 years what my crystal ball prediction was - and I picked 2nd to 3rd Q of 2025.

Only armed with limited research and boots on the ground.

    I hope I'm right.
