Have fun.
And by no means go even 1 MPH over the speed limit!
If you're delivering on Coronado island your best bet is probably the Pilot in Otay Mesa. It is around 25 miles south.
Take I-5 south to CA 905 east. Go 5 or 6 miles, it's on the left side.
Don't park anywhere that is not secure. It is a very high risk area. -
If the pilot is full you can park in the lot across the street from jack in the box off siempre vive road where the autozone is

I've lived in SD for a few years. Here are 3 options I've used in the past:
1. The Pilot T/S off of CA-905. This is about 10 miles from where you'll deliver but it's the closest sizable t/s.
2. 30th Street between Iris Ave and Coronado Ave. There are numerous warehouses and businesses that receive trucks on this stretch and the cops won't mess with you for parking overnight. Also good if you want to get anywhere in the SD area as the Iris Ave Trolley Station is within walking distance.
3. Roosevelt Ave in National City near the Super 8 motel. This is the closest on street parking that I know of in relation to the Naval base (just south of the base). Park on the west side of the street... only restrictions there are for street sweeping days.
There are more places further away from the base but most are either in sketchy areas or have you running the risk of getting a not so subtle reminder to move along from the police.zmpart Thanks this. -
Take the "Miles of Cars" exit, go right, left at 2nd light and there is typically some places left to park.

Thanks for the info guys. The miles of car exit worked perfect for what i needed. it was packed full on sunday early afternoon but i managed to parrellel between a couple car carriers. it was walking distance to the 24th st trolley station to hop into down town and enjoy the padres opening day festivities.
thanks again
