These past few weeks my truck started to occasionally make “old” metallic noises while turning. The truck doesn’t have to be rolling. While idling, I can turn left or right and hear this noise. I’ve never had this problem before. I’m starting to think a bolt is loose or piece of metal cracked.
On a second thought, maybe something is making metal-to-metal contact. I grease my truck, and they grease it again on every oil change.

What does old metallic noises mean? Popping, rubbing, creaking? What truck?

That's just the way power steering sounds. Or your pump is getting tired. You could drain it and put engine oil in it to see that helps.

Does it make a sound like screeeeeeeeee uuuuurrrrrr? 15/40 oil will quiet it right down.

Check and see if your spring shackles on the rear of the springs are rubbing the springs themselves.

UPDATE—
My truck stopped making noises a few weeks after I initially posted the problem. I think part of the problem was that my truck had been sitting for almost two weeks. If I remember correctly, greasing my truck chassis along with the power steering solved it. I grease my truck every 10-20k miles. -
