The lettering on my truck from the people that had it before me is on the fuel tank. I have to remove it.
The name of the business and the City is above the top step on the fuel tank.
The DOT number and the PA puc number is between the first step and second step all with black letters.
Is there any problem if I letter my truck the same way?

Nope, your legal as long as it can be seen from 50'....I used 2.5" letters on my steps
Rideandrepair, Cabinover101 and Dino soar Thank this. -
You can put it wherever you want as long as they can see it from 50ft. I had it on the frame of my FLD.
Rideandrepair, ChevyCam, Cabinover101 and 2 others Thank this. -

I thought it was 2.5”, myself along with 50 ft visibility. Also must be on body of Truck. I see plenty on the Tanks, and steps and a lot with much smaller lettering. Ryder’s letters are smaller than required. There’s definitely a size requirement, 2-3”, and contrasting color requirement. Mine are faded bad, need new ones. But haven’t been ticketed. Had a couple verbal warnings, a few yrs back. One Ohio Trooper, stood back 50 ft. I need new ones. Think I’ll put them on Tanks, this time.

I just double checked to be sure and there are no size requirements or requirements as to where it must be placed. Simply says contrasting color visible from 50 feet.

Wonder how PA can make there own rules? This is Fed not state. Or has PA became so good they trump the Fed now?
Rideandrepair Thanks this.
