(2006 columbia) my truck has two different size spacers in the leaf spring u bolt assembly. The left side is amost 3" with a 1/8" shim and the right side is 2 1/8" without a shim. Is this standard practice?
Ive been fighting problems with trailer tire wear from day one. Opposite tires (R front vs L rear) on tandoms are cupping on the edges of the tires. I had the tractor, trailer, and the two together aligned numerous times. Still have tire wear. Tractor pulls to the right, trailer dog legs and leans to the right. Ive noticed the front R shock is stressed and I just replaced them less than 10,000 miles ago. Theres trailer vibration that travels up front, oh and blaaa blaaa blaaa, it goes on and on.
Question: How do I test for level? It looks like it leans...but then again, dont we all, just a bit?! lol

    Thanks!!!

That's normal they use diffrent shims side to side to help level the truck out if its leaning or to set with alighnment so if you remove the shim make sure you have the alighnment checked

What do you mean by "messed up"? That truly could be just about everything... OMG!
Do you know any web sites/links that would have the suspension specs for 06 Columbia?

thats normal you can never buy two springs with the the same arch in them so it's done with the spacers.

    debness65 Thanks this.

the way i level my trucks is measure at the ends of bumpers and under the axle on the side your going to jack up then jack up until level on bumper measure how far you jacked up the axle, not the bumper. thats how thick of a spacer you will need.

I have an 04 Columbia with a cat that also has the different spacers, and I have seen a 99 fld with the same, I never found out if it's normal but I figured it's that way to help sleep better( most people sleep on the higher side) not sure but if any one knows why the difference I'm willing to listen
