So a month ago I hit a blind water covered pot hole at a shippers lot. Ever since that night, it's got this bouncy feeling which seems like front area. The fender mirrors shakes up and down.

What my shop has done so far, new tie rod, alignment, mounted 2 brand new tires to test, didn't solve the issue, checked the bare wheel to see if it's bent. Wheel is fine, they checked the king pin, it's fine.

I don't know what else it is, they suggested that it's probably shock. Or drive tires. Drives are less than 6,000 miles old. So I doubt it's the drives.

What else could cause this. It is very noticeable at between 50 to 57 mph. From 60 to 65 it isn't too bad just comes and goes. It then is noticeable at 70+ just like 50-57 just not so constant like low speed.

If you have a sustained, speed related shake, then you have an out of round or out of balance tire/wheel. Depends where you feel it. If you feel it in the seat, it is a drive tire. If you have a steering wheel shimmy, then it is in the front. A drive tire will also cause the front mirrors to shake since they are basically causing the whole truck to shake. Now you need to jack up the front and/or drive axles and spin up the wheels to see if any are running out of round.

I have a appointment at different shop tomorrow at 8am. I'll have them check the drive tires. No one has equimpent to balance super singles. So i don't know how they will do it but I will let them know to check the drive tires.

The steering wheel does not move or shimmy around, the shifter stick bounces when this bouncing happens too.

Replace the steer tire instantly. Are you kidding? A month?

Ive had steers go bad in winter driving when the steel inside of them fail and warp em. I replace them instantly. I don't care if the company squawked over the tire bill on the phone, I put a new one on.

There is a commandment in trucking school, protect thy steers and live. This is the first thing they teach you.

I don't know if this is the case or will help you ..1999 sterling started doing it after I mounted 2 tires couldn't figure it out..looked it over had alignment done man said out of round..got home looked at the hub the rims was more to 1 side on the hub then the other just a nice gap little more then a 1/8th backed lugs off took my spoon under the tire til the gap was about even as I could get tighten things up bounce just about gone..I plan to invest in a set of the tru lugs I think they are called to get everything straight ..maybe what you have cost nothing to chech

They checked the drives for out round, found one out of center, centered it and took for drive, no change...

Checked motor and Trans mount, looks good.

Checked driveline all look good including yoke.

Next right now they are removing the centeramics and take it for test drive.

You could have bent the axle. It happens, and it will eat your steers slicker'n s***. My friend fought a front end shake and short lived steers for 2 years before our local mechanic pulled the front end and found the axle bent. Some of them can be straightened, some, unfortunately have to be replaced.

Well after so many hours into it, we couldn't find anything, when I got it aligned 2 weeks ago, it was fine, no bent axles.

With the centeramics off, still no difference.

I then thought of this, why not make a magentic mount for my GoPro, so I did and put it in several places, looks like its coming from the drives. So I put it on the frame to view the shock movement. Looks like the rear rear right tire is out of round.

The video starts with a view of the transmission to show you what the bouncy feeling is like. Then it shows rear rear left, then rear front left (that part is long just move up the video a little to get to next shock), next is rear front right, rear rear right, front left, and front right.

The road I tested on is very smooth, it was just recently paved a year or so ago.

Loose belt in the steer you hit the hole with. This will happen frequently when guys run tires over inflated instead of properly inflated. When your tire is rock hard it can't flex over obstacles. Damage results.
