Hi, I'm having problems with a 96 Peterbilt , Super 10 transmission. Dump truck
I went up a steep dirt hill, and after that I noticed that the transmission was jumping. After shifting from low to high ( 5-6, 7-8) it would jump and the rpms will stay the same.
I would drive in 9th gear at 45 mph and the rpms will stay at around 1000 when normally it would go to 14-1500. at some point in 9th gear it marked it was at 60 mph and the rpms would be lagging.
Anytime i would shift the rpms would stay really high.
After I made it to my yard, I parked it and tried to move it again and it would not move. In Gear the driveshaft would not spin. However, it does go into all the gears. but releasing the clutch it would not move and it will stay in gear. Starting it gear it did not move either. Would i need to replace the transmission or is it something simple?
Thanks

Listen to this. Once a Mack quad axle for an asphalt company I worked for, the driver stopped on a scale, got his ticket, got back in the truck, put it in gear, wouldn't move. Turns out, the crankshaft broke right before the flywheel. I don't think that's what happened here, and we can speculate all day, but it needs to come apart, sorry. If your old clutch discs have springs, get the extreme duty ones without springs.

replace transmission n it worked. Clutch was fine

I would have replaced the clutch and all the working parts along with having the flywheel turned, while the transmission was out.
